Lypswitch arrived in Los Angeles CA. (From Orlando, Fl.) in April of 1988. This was during the early national high life of Guns N Roses, Lypswitch arrived on April 10th and played they're first show at Gazzarri's on April 17th. Needless to say, only 6 people were in attendance. Fortunately that would not last long.... Within months the band was playing in front of hundreds of people a night and garnished MTV exposure in September of 1988...... Opening for many bigger bands that first year, Lypswitch began to develop a loyal following. September saw the band opening for the D'molls and Bang Tango in front of a sold out crowd at Gazzarris. In October the band opened for Love/Hate at the Whisky for another packed house. Also numerous sold out shows opening for Funhouse helped the band gain exposure locally and nationally with MTV filming the 2 bands at Club Lingerie.
